I fell in love with computers at fifteen while teaching at a local computer training institute for pocket money. That early fascination with computers and what they could do never left me.
In the course of my career, I have built tech-centric businesses, managed tech teams, implemented complex websites, e-commerce and mobile trading applications, SAP, ATG and supply chain solutions. I’ve advised on outsourcing strategies, created the MOSEM methodology for outsourcing effectiveness that Mphasis used with many clients and led IIFL into the largest and most successful cloud deployment in India. I’ve negotiated a Rs 240Cr strategic outsourcing contract with IBM uniquely based on outcome pricing; it reached steady state in less than a year. I've managed large IT setups with hundreds of offices, thousands of different kinds of devices and millions of real time transactions.
The Internet excites me; I live my life online and follow worldwide trends closely. I was an early Internet evangelist, speaking, writing about and implementing across the world from the earliest days of my career. I was instrumental in helping Rediff launch India’s first e-commerce. I co-founded Indbazaar, which gathered a million registered users and became India’s #3 portal on a shoestring. I played a key role with many other web presences in India and abroad - Shoppers Stop, Sharekhan, JP Morgan Chase, Capital One Auto Finance and others. More recently, I led Futurebazaar from launch to India’s largest e-commerce site in 2006.
I’ve spoken, written and presented extensively on e-commerce, m-commerce, cloud, development methodologies, strategic outsourcing and the changing world of online and social media. A recent peer vote ranked me 42nd in the list of India’s most influential CIOs.
