Allow me to introduce myself—I'm Serah Wambui Kamau, an Executive Human Resources Manager known for my unwavering dedication and passion for talent acquisition. With a Bachelor's degree in Procurement and Contract Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, I bring a diverse skill set to my role in the field of HR.
Over the course of my four-year career, I've made significant contributions to the organizations I've worked with. As an Executive HR Manager at Mahad Manpower Co.W.L.L in Doha, I excel in personnel management, ensuring accurate employee records, and navigating local, state, and federal regulations. Additionally, I take pride in supporting the onboarding process for new hires, equipping them with the necessary resources for success.
Before my current position, I served as a Human Resources Administrator at Alfada Agency, where I maintained personnel records, facilitated recruitment processes, and implemented HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Assisting with employee benefits enrollment and managing HR-related systems were also among my responsibilities. My time as an Administrator at Al Khaleej Professional further solidified my understanding of employment laws and allowed me to foster a positive work environment.
My specialization lies in talent acquisition, an area where I've achieved remarkable success. Notably, I led the recruitment of over 4000 individuals during FIFA, showcasing my ability to identify and secure top talent for organizations.
What sets me apart is my unique perspective on HR. Despite not studying talent acquisition formally, my genuine passion and daily excitement for being in HR, particularly talent acquisition, have driven me since my graduation. Moreover, as the only black person in my previous organizations, I've faced various forms of discrimination. However, I've used these experiences as opportunities for personal growth and have persevered with an unwavering determination.
In addition to my professional endeavors, I'm currently writing my first book, "The Prickled Blooming Rose," which delves into my personal journey, triumphs, and the transformative power of resilience. Outside of my career, I am known for my kind nature, gentle demeanor, and genuine appreciation for everyone around me.
With my expertise, achievements, and unique perspective, I am eager to inspire and educate audiences at HRPA conferences and events. My passion for talent acquisition, combined with my deep understanding of HR practices and commitment to fostering inclusive work environments, ensures an engaging and impactful speaking experience.
