1996 – graduated from the Moscow State University, biochemistry. Ph.D in "physiology" and "aviation and space medicine".
2003 - enlisted as a candidate in astronauts’ team of Russia as a member of Russian Academy of Sciences
2007 - participated in the project "Mars-500" as commander of the crew
2013 - took the Olympic torch of the Sochi Winter Olympics into outer space.
2013 - performed one of the longest outer space missions in the history of the Soviet and Russian astronautics, mission lasted 8 hours 7 minutes.
2014 - became a motivation speaker. Lectures are focused on leadership, motivation, team building, working in stressful conditions. All examples are based on my unique experiences: being selected and trained to be an astronaut, living and working in multi-cultural teams on the ISS, performing spacewalks, dealing with crises.
2015 - graduated with honors from the Master's program of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.
2016 - became Chairman of the Russian movement of schoolchildren.
2018 – wrote two books: “Amazing Earth” which compiles my best pictures of our planet made from ISS and “How to hammer a nail in space” which answers most popular questions about astronautics.
