As a young vulnerable teenager I got into a relationship with an abusive man. Here, I stayed for 16 years. During this relationship, I was physically, sexually, financially, emotionally and verbally abused on a daily basis. I was a broken soul in a very dark world. I had two children whilst in this relationship who became my saviours. My children bared witness to all of the abuse their father conflicted on me.
I am is now free and safe from this man. How ever, the trauma of the past had left me with mental health issues. I have been diagnosed with PTSD and have to continually see a therapist to improve myself.
I have made it my mission to educate the next generation on what a healthy relationship should look like, how to identify the signs of unhealthy relationship and what abuse may look like.
I have now become an advocate against domestic violence. I give speeches in school, at events, cooperate business place and anywhere else where I can raise awareness.
I am a trained as a mentor, offering 1 on 1 services for women and teenagers needing someone to talk to about what they may be going through.
I am also Voices for Change spokeswomen!
