The Dirty Bride
While we as the church quickly boast about our title as the bride of Christ, do we really understand what that means? Do what really know what to do until His return? Do we know what NOT to do? Better yet, do we know how we look? The Bible says Jesus is coming back for a glorious bride who is radiant with love for Him. Despite what society and/or our own egos may say, He is not coming back for some old bride that’s had her teeth knocked out by the devil, wearing an old dirty dress. The Dirty Bride is a satirical visual bible study based on Ephesians 5. Shonda Carter has given life to the bride of Christ and how some may view “her”- the book of Ruth is used as an example and viewers will hear several wedding tips- good and bad. And how to “survive” when the wedding planner (Holy Spirit) won’t give you everything you want. This hilarious character makes it crystal clear just what it looks and sounds like if you are one of “those” who believe, “It don’t take all that!”
Outcast to Example (The Woman with the Issue of Blood)
“Blood that caused defilement came in contact with the Man whose BLOOD would wash away defilement. Amazing! How many times have you read a Bible story that went from heartache to Hallelujah faster than you could turn to the starting verse? With this dramatic portrayal of the unnamed Woman w/the Issue of blood, Shonda Carter invokes your audience to experience her story, not just read it. How many times have you read a Bible story that went from heartache to Hallelujah faster than you could turn to the starting verse? With this dramatic portrayal of the unnamed Woman w/the Issue of blood, Shonda Carter invokes your audience to experience her story, as she reveals the framework needed to deal with 100% of the stuff we come up against in life.
Ya Got Trouble (Parody of The Music Man)
Through this stage parody, Shonda Carter warns her fellow brothers and sisters what can happen when you are not aware or close your eyes to a duel with your flesh you do not wish to acknowledge. Through this entertaining rendition, your audience will feel the “heat” we have all heard of in the Parable of the Talents.
Your perspective matters!
What was it like engaging with Shonda?
