Simon J Green aims to understand fear so that we can use it to overcome challenges. Born with rare genetic disease cystic fibrosis and subjected to emergency surgery when he was only a day old, this writer, producer and arts leader draws on a wealth of experience with pain, fear and unfortunate flatulence. Simon combines his personal journey, diversity activism, and an unconventional career in arts and marketing, with a cheeky sense of humour, to blow up our social fears and overcome personal and organisational challenges. His background in human-centred design thinking and facilitation means his audiences feel personal connections to universal themes. His decade producing video and media means he can bring all the audio visual splendour of a blockbuster movie to the smallest of stages.
“I use fear to talk about bravery. Being brave in business, in art, in life, in whatever it is you do. More often than not, bravery is about taking risks and trying to do what everyone else isn’t. When you’ve nearly died as a child and run multiple companies in a volatile business like media, the downsides of risk seem trivial compared to the myriad successes it brings.”
Book Simon if you want to discuss or understand creativity, digital & media, small business, innovation & entrepreneurship, or cystic fibrosis & disability issues. You can also find him in the Disability Leaders Speakers Bank and the annecto Speakers Bank.
