I was an All-Pro wide receiver for the Denver Broncos Football Team from 1979-1988. Following my career in the NFL I started a very successful real estate development company and continued that endeavor for the next 10 years, from 1989-1999. My partner and I developed the very popular Water Valley Development in Northern Colorado nestled along the Poudre River. We designed and engineered the one of a kind Pelican Lakes Golf Course which has become a destination for golfers in Colorado. During that time I was a sports analyst on KUSA Channel 9 during the NFL season from 1992-1994. Every Monday night before the Denver Broncos played I would go on the air with Ron Zappolo (local sportscaster) and give my thoughts and analysis of the Bronco game as well as the Monday Night game to follow. After a great run in Real Estate Development, the head coach of the Denver Broncos Football Club, Mike Shanahan, asked me if I would be interested in becoming an assistant coach with the Denver Broncos and I accepted. From 2000-2009 I was a coach for the Denver Broncos Football Club. It was a great experience for me to coach and teach. After Coach Shanahan moved on to Washington, i had the opportunity to coach in the Big Ten at the University of Minnesota. When their coach moved on I took a job at Indiana State for a season to help a friend in need. I have since moved on from coaching football and joined some great friends on their real estate team, the Bonanza Team @ Keller Williams Realty DTC. It has been great fun for me to return to Colorado and start something new and exciting. I have been a public speaker all of my career in Denver as a former professional football player, and am now doing it for a living. It is such a blessing for me to have been able to be part of the Denver Broncos as a player and coach. I am now tellng my story in hopes that it may inspire people to not give up on your dreams. Set the bar high and stay in the game. You never know how close you are to achieving your goals.
