Tanika Cherie'

Tanika Cherie' is a Motivational Speaker, Published Author and Writer who promotes the overall health of individuals, families, and communities. Navigating through her own life filled with tragedies, abandonment, and loss, Tanika overcame what she now teaches on the positive transformation that comes from LIFE, Love and loss. Tanika also co-authored, "The Mourning's After: From Grief to Glory" where she takes you on a journey through her life in the chapter, "The Gravel Road I traveled." She also co-authored, "The Power of Connections Series," which she taught at Enterprise University. Tanika is also a co-founder of Be A Bridge & Elevate (BABE), an organization that uplifts women and connects communities.

Tanika obtained a B.A. in Communications from Indiana Wesleyan University and has excellent skills in speaking, writing and critical thinking, while encouraging and motivating individuals and audiences. In addition, she has over 15 years' experience in the Financial Industry as a FINRA Registered Representative and is a certified FDIC/Smart Money Financial Literacy Trainer. She has worked providing extensive case management and is NPCL Certified, which is the National Partnership for Community Leadership through Kansas and has taught personal and professional development training for a Re-Entry Program.

Tanika enjoys uncovering and sharing the growth the opportunities that come from navigating through life and adversity. Her motto is: “You Can Always Begin Again.” No matter where you are personally or professionally, Tanika can customize her talks to teach and motivate on subject matters relevant to us all.

I am a director, public speaker and financial professional who has over 20 years’ experience working in the banking industry, as a manager and a FINRA registered representative. My tenure in the financial industry has been in investment sales, services and private wealth management. I specialize in program development, strategic planning, outreach, and financial literacy training for low to moderate income individuals and families. I have worked with various nonprofits to help break the cycle of poverty by serving families thru extensive case management and workforce development training.

In response to the needs of those participating in reentry and restorative justice programs, I created a 4-week course called TECHknowledgE2, that educates and empowers individuals by providing both financial and digital literacy training, to prepare them to return to the workforce. My team is currently teaching the course at the Transition Center of Kansas City in KCMO.

I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Indiana Wesleyan University, has held the FINRA Series 6, 63 and Life Licenses as a Registered Investment Representative; have been a FDIC Money Smart Certified Financial Literacy Trainer since 2004 and am currently pursuing my grad degree M.A. in Organizational Leadership at the Helzberg School of Management at Rockhurst University.
