Amplify Cultural Awareness In The Workplace

This workshop will provide you with tools to help your team members overcome cultural differences; they’ll be able to achieve the common goal.

But where to do you start? And how do you go about doing this?

The answer is simple, start by promoting cultural awareness in the workplace. This is particularly important in today’s work environment. It can help prevent conflicts and allow your people to better deal with clients and team members with a diverse background.

This workshop is a cultural icebreaker. It is a fun and interactive way to deliver insight and discussion amongst each other.
This workshop is meant to learn about your co-worker's culture by sharing information about your own culture.

There are no winners or losers, but everyone will gain knowledge of cultures and understand each other after this session!

Rising above Bias

Research shows that gender bias contributes to women being passed over for jobs and promotions. Almost three in four women experience bias at work, and those who do are more likely to leave their jobs.

Pump Up The Jam @ Work

It has been proven through various studies that happy people spark joy towards the workplace and can positively affect your creativity, your productivity, and your health.

Pump Up The Jam @ Work is inspired by the 90’s song from Technotronic. Listening to this song alone will create a spark of joy within you to reset and re-energize everywhere, even at the workplace.

The essential ingredients for Pump Up The Jam @ Work are air, water, nutrition, sound, light, nature, movement, mind, community, the human factor. Each ingredient contains energizers for you to bring your A-game on a daily basis.

Pump Up The Jam For DEI/D&I/JEDI Professionals

Working in the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) domain can become exhausting after a while. Your entire job is to reorganize a workplace that was most likely not designed for everyone. Even the most inclusive workplaces must reconfigure and readapt as they shift in response to societal changes.

This is often an exciting experience because you get to make real change happen with “humanize the workplace” results.

But it can also be emotionally draining – when dealing with other people’s emotions and personal experiences in a professional environment, burnout can be a real risk.

Pump Up The Jam @ Work for the DEI professional contains essential ingredients for DEI professionals to achieve their goals to bring their whole selves before, during, and after work.
Audio Challenge is optional.

Amplify Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion are trending topics lately. It’s hard to go a week without reading an article about companies promoting their commitment to diversity.

At the same time, other companies are called out for tolerating dehumanizing behavior and comments in the workplace.

During this talk, you will learn the fundamentals of diversity, equity, and inclusion and why DEI is essential for people and companies.

Amplify Authentic Allyship

Allyship—the continuous practice of amplifying a culture of inclusion through positive, intentional, and conscious actions that benefit everyone. It is an impactful way individuals can work towards equitable, inclusive organizations.

This training is to equip people with a framework and tools to be an effective ally in the workplace through daily interactions, in-the-moment interventions, and ongoing advocacy.

Extend this workshop with the 8-day or 21-day audio training.

Becoming an ally is a journey of understanding and action. With the audio training, your organization can commit to supporting everyone to take a step forward on this journey towards inclusive actions. The audio training contains resources, conversation starters, journal prompts for people to become a better ally for others.

This version will support your audience in raising awareness by transforming their thinking, understanding, and commitment to Amplify DEI by becoming an authentic ally!

Check Your Unconcious Bias

Research shows that compliance-oriented unconscious bias training does not make a difference. This training is to help people understand how unconscious bias undermines diversity, equity and inclusion, collaboration, decision-making, and management, and motivates them to engage in specific, effective behaviors that create more effective leaders, more productive teams, and a more inclusive organizational culture.

It allows employees to voice their challenges, overcome obstacles, and find solutions. This will result in inspiring employees to perform to infinity and beyond.

  • I am so glad I connected with Vivian. We brought her in as our quarterly speaker on a DEI topic. Vivian spoke to our workforce about social injustice in the workplace. The hour-long conversation was engaging and interactive. The anonymous polls allowed for people to be fully transparent and vulnerable which opened up areas of learning. She created a safe space for real and hard conversations. I would 10/10 recommend Vivian or bring her back for another talk.

  • Vivian gave a thought-provoking presentation, Amplify Diversity in the Workplace, in our quarterly DEI webinar series for all employees. Throughout the presentation, Vivian used an engaging tool to interact with the audience and maintain engagement. She even worked with me to increase awareness of our ERGs and what they do at Lighthouse by including this information in the presentation. I also appreciate how easy and fun she was to work with.

  • At C.H. Robinson we had the pleasure of connecting with Vivian to join one of our external speaker events for our European Women’s Network. She presented "Amplifying Allyship" to our network, helping to illustrate the tools needed to take action in support of DEI initiatives. The event was interactive keeping all participants engaged as well as creating a safe space for people to exercise their learning process on these topics. Vivian sets a great example and we need more people like her in the world to help generate change and create an environment where all people feel comfortable and can thrive. Would recommend Vivian to anyone looking for support to have an impact on their DEI initiatives or a thought evoking conversation. Vivian is easy to talk to and has a lot of experience! Excited to align again in the future and implement her teachings into our daily lives. Thanks, Vivian!

  • Vivian brings an enormous positive energy, which the participants of her workshops pick up and take with them. It is special to see that in this time she knows how to break through all zoom fatigue. The inclusive self-leadership course was enlightening and inspiring for us. Vivian used real-life examples and comparisons to get our group thinking about inclusion. But the best part: after the workshop everyone was really ready to get started. A number of great new initiatives have emerged from this workshop. Thanks Vivian!

  • Vivian delivered tailored workshops for Indeed's Inclusion Resource Group (IRG) leaders globally across Europe, Asia and North America. The focus of the Pump Up the Jam workshops was to reflect, pause and re-energize IRG leaders who often taken on extra burdens as they champion diversity, inclusion and belonging in the workplace and in our product offerings. Over the past 1.5 years, there is an increasing chance of burnout among DEI professionals and Vivian helped us all to take a step back and focus on our own mental health and wellbeing as we drive transformational change. Thank you so much Vivian for your openness and thought leadership!

  • I had the pleasure of working with Vivian when she hosted our PlusPlusOne ‘Peek in the Kitchen’ event, raising the awareness of the work we are doing increasing the diversity of talent for the Dutch creative industries. She made the preparation process a joy, and has a host of tools (she confesses to being a ‘bit of geek’!) that helped ensure we had the right foundations for the on-line event that ran exceptionally smoothly, and was very well received. Not only is Vivian a consummate professional she was also empathetic, and knowledgeable, regarding the subjects under discussion. She kept the energy level high and made the speakers feel comfortable, and confident, because of her authentic and interactive approach. This ensured everyone was able to contribute in a way that positively supported our cause, and made all our presenters shine. Her biggest superpower is her ability to connect with people and make them feel at ease, whilst retaining her professional approach.

  • Vivian delivered the "Amplifying Allyship"-workshop to students and it was a huge success! She has the ability to connect instantly with people, making them feel at ease whilst talking about sensitive and uncomfortable issues like DEI. Explaining concepts clearly and continuously tapping into people´s emotional state at any given time during the workshop it is impossible to disconnect from the session. Incorporating dynamics and interactivity and maintaining the possibility to "participate anonymously" guarantees inclusion of everyone, also of the ones that are unsure (still) whether to be(come) an ally or not. If you are thinking about the "why" and "how" to incorporate DEI in your corporate or educational structure, make sure to invite your leadership to a conversation with Vivian! She will clarify and support, from a place of knowledge, experience and patience! Thank you Vivian! Already looking forward to having you back on campus for all the work still to be done!

  • I've asked Vivian to host a cultural awareness and racial diversity workshop at Corning. She had lead two sessions where the attendees shared their favorite aspects of their culture, a little bit of their life stories and experiences with racial misunderstandings or aggressions. It was extremely valuable to have Vivian be our guide. Vivian is deeply passionate about DEI and she is a remarkable individual and professional. She is helping organizations in having conversations about diversity, equity and inclusion with the ultimate goal of becoming better workplaces for humans. If that is your goal then I can only recommend that you hire Vivian.

  • Vivian was one of our panelists for the Acrolinx Inclusive Language webinar this year. She is a vibrant, authentic and confident speaker on all things diversity, equity and inclusion. Our initial conversations left me feeling inspired and supported. In the planning phase of the webinar, Vivian considered every aspect possible to make the webinar a success - bringing in some of her valuable experience in holding digital events. We kept in touch regularly, and I admired how invested she was in the project. On the day of the webinar, Vivian exuded a wonderful mix of positivity and professionalism. Our customers found the webinar incredibly insightful and engaging and we received a lot of positive feedback on the topic. I would happily look forward to another collaboration with Vivian in the future!

  • I am happy to have had the opportunity to meet Vivian and work with her this year, a 2020 that took us all on different highs and lows. Vivian is very inspiring, down to earth and can bring concepts on the page in an actionable way. Extremely insightful and resourceful on all thing's digital strategy, Vivian has a vast knowledge about events and public presence, and what makes it wonderful is that she has a focus on humanizing interactions and communications, which in a year like this becomes not only useful, but also necessary for any manager or leader. I can highly recommend Vivian to any company or professional who is looking to step up their game and become more empowered in their online (and offline!) presence and to explore how to amplify their voice and achieve their goals in a humanizing way. Big THANK YOU Vivian!
