This presentation was for the Mecklenburg General Baptist Association Annual Women's Retreat. The scripture reference was Matthew 7:24-27. I opened the session with a reference to the story of the 3 Little Pigs as a segue to the presentation.
Early Identification and Intervention of Hearing Loss October 2012
This presentation was for the Central Piedmont Community College Special Education Class and Childcare Resources childcare teachers. The attendees learned about early diagnosis of hearing loss, and early intervention services available in the state of NC and were made familiar with technology; hearing aids, cochlear implants, and FM systems. Participants received continued education certificates of credit.
The Power of Play November 2012
This presentation was for the UNCC Child & Family Dev. Conf. Attendees learned the importance of play in early child development. I co-presented with a colleague who provided developmental information on language and play in Hispanic learners. This presentation included video clips of both English and Hispanic toddlers engaged in play with family and the use of interpreters in home coaching sessions. Participants received continued education certificates of credit.
