Wilhelm K. Meya traveled Central America during his college years and discovered a passion for Indigenous advocacy and awareness. He graduated Indiana University with an M.S. of Anthropology and established The Language Conservancy (TLC) in 2005. Mr. Meya forged collaborations and alliances between his organization and educational institutions to meet his end goals—preserving and protecting endangered Indigenous languages. He is considered a pioneer in endangered language revitalization.
