Aquisha, a West Philadelphia native, is an author, life and spiritual coach and motivational speaker. As a young child, Aquisha was best described as precocious. She was identified as a gifted and talented student by the time she reached the third grade, but resented being labeled because she did not find joy in being set apart from her peers. Her mother often tells the story of Aquisha creating a “Things to Do Today” book at the age of two. She would often engage in conversations with adults, using her wit and higher order reasoning skills to amuse. She has always been a high achiever and takes joy in embarking on seemingly insurmountable tasks. Aquisha excelled in many academic and athletic experiences deemed challenging to her grade school through college level counterparts. Her exceptional athleticism earned her a four-year basketball scholarship to Rutgers University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree. She later earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and is presently enrolled in a Doctorate in Business Administration that will be completed in 2019. So it’s no surprise that she loves a challenge! Aquisha uses her academic and athletic experiences as motivation to advance in business. She and her husband, Rezon Harris, have created R&A Harris Investments Company, LLC, that serves as the parent company for their subsidiaries. Aquisha loves helping people to become the best version of themselves. Her high energy, charisma, and sense of humor are empowering. After one conversation with Aquisha, she will have you feeling like a long time friend. Let’s not forget that this young lady is a loving wife to her high school sweetheart, Rezon, Sr., a wonderful and caring mother of her five sons, Rezon, Jr., Ryan, Roman, Royce, and Rico, and a dependable and devoted individual to her immediate and extended family and friends. – Your life is like a huge treasure hunt, so you have to go below the surface to find your value. Have fun digging!

A third Generation Blue Collar Entrepreneur who hails from the automotive industry and excels at transforming field techs into a dominate front-line sales force that provide world class customer service. An advocate for the Blue-Collar Trades who is looking to pay it forward to the next generation of fellow trades men and women. Husband, Dad, Business Owner, Motivational Speaker, and Coach. My story starts three generations back with my grandfather taking his last check he received from the Army and buying a used air compressor to start his auto repair shop. He grew that into a used car lot, body shop, auto recycling yard and eventually a Lincoln Mercury Dealership he ran for over 50 years. His success was based in the trades and the mechanical ability to repair cars. Over a lifetime he grew that into an empire of wealth and success. My father who started wrenching on lawn mowers and mini bikes in early elementary school found his calling in the auto body industry and ran a very successful body shop and towing company for nearly 40 years. As I child I was raised around men who built their wealth and success starting with their hands. Growing that skill into owners of their own businesses and eventually leaders in their respected industries. As a child I never really envisioned myself taking the path of college and a four-year degree. School never resonated with me as a path to success and really during my high school years became more of something I had to do before I got to go to work. Now work was something I grew to love and look forward to. Every time there was a break in the school schedule for summer or holidays you could find me doing some sort of labor job. For the better part of Jr high and high school I worked most days after school as well. During these years I had the opportunity to work on a ranch cutting wood, repairing tractors, changing irrigation lines and mending fences, worked at a golf course driving the range cart picking up balls, junk yard parts salesman, wooden boat restoration shop, CNC machine shop, auto detailer, light line mechanic, auto glass warehouse and deliver guy. Of course, the whole time I also did side jobs to make money, fixing up and selling everything from bikes to cars. So, the entrepreneurial spirit runs deep with me. In my early 20’s I got a taste of being a number among many at a large corporate auto dealership as a parts counterman and quickly realized big business is not where I wanted to stake my career. Small business was more of my liking and the close personal relationships small business affords you resonated with me. So, I took a temporary position at my father’s body shop as a collision estimator that eventually turned into a partnership that bought my father out so he was able to retire. After nearly a decade in a three-way partnership owning a body shop and two towing companies I have since sold my shares of the body shop and now own the two towing companies located in Sacramento,CA.

In 2000, Lia started A Better Solution In Home Care, where she manages a staff of over 300 trained Caregivers and Nurses, serving all of San Diego County. “Our mission is to provide the highest quality of professional caregiving and nursing services to individuals and families in need of assistance in the environment of their choice.” From a young age, Lia has always had a special place in her heart for seniors. She started in the Health and Aging industry when she was just 22 years old, working in a skilled nursing facility. She later continued advancing in her home care career by providing direct care to seniors in their homes. Lia’s career continued a steady climb as she tackled the task of Office Manager and Director of Staffing where she quickly identified critical issues within the industry. These discoveries have allowed her to create a business model unique to the industry by acting as a hub for resources for her clients. Her passion for educating the community has become the link connecting clients to the fragmented resources in healthcare that are available to them. Lia is a relentless advocate for senior issues at a state legislative level and is a two-term board member of the California Association for Health Services at Home (CAHSAH), where she addresses critical issues that affect the industry workforce, seniors and the medically fragile. More recently, Lia developed her Home Care Brand into a franchise model and opened her first franchise in the Wichita, Kansas area, while simultaneously licensing the corporate office as a Medicare Certified Home Health Agency, allowing for Nursing Care as well as Rehabilitative Therapies. Lia later formed A Better Solution Community Resource Organization, (ABSCRO), a nonprofit organization created to support San Diego with programs like feeding the homeless and providing them with supplies needed for the winter months. “Giving back to our community is one reason we have been so successful in our business.” With over 25 years in the industry, the Author of three books and a mentor to past employees turned business owners, Lia believes empowering those around her is a part of her calling and purpose. Her latest release, The Homecare Bible, Tips of the Trade from the CEO Perspective, is a culmination of both the winning strategies and missteps that she has seen not only “Baby CEO’s” make—but also owners all over the country when trying to establish themselves in the industry. Lia illuminates the fact that real success in this people-centric industry comes from remaining teachable. In her book, Lia provides the reader with a birds-eye view of her success in business that was made possible by her ability to learn from her mistakes and use those instances to adjust her philosophies and methods.

Shawn Harper and his five siblings were raised by their single mother in Columbus, Ohio. Greeted daily by the hard knock life, he learned to survive the trenches of a rough, impoverished south side neighborhood. However, Shawn’s environment was not the only challenge he faced as a child. He also lives with four disabilities, including dyslexia and a speech impediment. Teachers sneered at Shawn, blatantly telling him he was not “college material.” Despite suffering from his disabilities, a debilitating stutter and lack of support at school, he was determined to fit in and began playing football in high school. During his senior year, the coach at North Iowa Community College was looking for athletes who had potential, so Shawn’s high school coach recommended him. He graduated 154th (last) in his class, did not receive scholarships to assist him financially, and there were no guarantees for Shawn – but just having an opportunity at the junior college was all he needed to explode and change his entire life forever. Shawn’s dream began at North Iowa Community College. While playing football for the junior college, he envisioned himself playing in the National Football League (NFL). For inspiration, he placed three letters above his headboard, “NFL”, and he continued to apply himself to his studies. Shawn was then recruited by Indiana University (IU). Having a successful football career at IU and graduating with honors, Shawn was drafted to the NFL and his dream became his reality. Shawn played for several NFL teams for seven years, including the Indianapolis Colts, and is currently CEO of American Services and Protection in Columbus, Ohio. He is an internationally acclaimed motivational speaker who shares the wisdom he gained from his life experiences. Shawn uses his “no excuses” philosophy to motivate millions of students, executives, and CEOs. Rising to fame in the NFL and serving as a life coach, successful business owner and worldwide motivational speaker, Shawn is living proof that “a set-back is a set-up for a comeback.“
