Motivational Speaker, Life Experience Coach

Nevada, United States

In 2004 I had 2 choices, go to treatment or go to prison. Of course, I chose treatment. That was many years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday. I gave up so many times in my head, but my spirit wouldn't let me lay down. I had to keep going, after all I had 3 beautiful kids depending on me. Now they are grown, and I am much older, hopefully wiser. I was able to achieve my bachelor’s degree in human services and my master’s degree in business administration. While this may not seem like an extraordinary feat to some, it means the world to me and to others who are just like me. My genuine intention is to help other people realize just how amazing they are. I became a motivational speaker after I had been asked to share my story at the Rotary Club many years ago. I felt so alive at the thought of motivating others to keep going when they want to give up. Sometimes, all we need is a little inspiration from someone with similarities to our own story. It’s not the success that attracts us, it’s the struggle.

I leverage story, science, authenticity, and 15 years of senior leadership and management experience to help clients up -level their business and personal and professional lives. In my consulting practice, I take a transparent, realistic, and roll-up-my-own-sleeves approach. My firsthand experience as VP of Marketing, CSO, and COO allows me to understand the complexities of implementing change. The ultimate objective of any consulting project is to not just tell clients “what to do” but to help them with “how”. Through a process that includes guiding, planning, training, and implementing, I work side by side with founders and senior leadership to create cultures and build infrastructures that company owners (and employees) can be proud of. Consulting Clients come from a broad range of sectors including Finance, Law, Education, Entertainment, Fashion, Media, Technology, Government & and Non-profits. In my one-on-one executive (and personal) coaching I work with clients to help them grow into a new level of leadership. My approach is straightforward and intuitive. I've spent the last two decades helping many clients transform their lives. My eclectic background and experience has made me uniquely equipped to support my clients in creating healthier relationships and more fulfilling lives. In addition to more traditional training in counseling and coaching, my time learning to gentle wild horses through a method known as "horse whispering" has taught me the art of how to wrangle in the most unruly of teenagers, team members and CEO's alike. In my personal life, I'm remarried and a member of a complex and wonderful blended family. It has taken much work together to achieve this (and the work goes on!), and this experience has given me compassion and passion for supporting couples, parents and families in similar situations. I love variety in my work, and enjoy supporting couples, parents and families with their relationships, as well as supporting teams, managers and leaders by providing the tools and skills to work better together with their colleagues. I absolutely love seeing folks begin taking the steps to transform their lives and witnessing the incredible changes that ensue. This work is most certainly my calling!

Three years ago my life changed forever. I lost my father. I lost almost my entire family. Twenty minutes after we said our final goodbyes to our father, my family said I was no longer welcome. Not even twenty minutes after saying goodbye to my best friend, I found myself homeless, with nothing but $19 to my name, and a '97 Volkswagon Jetta. I moved from the cornfields of Indiana to Naperville, IL. Took the first work opportunity given to me. Grocery picker, Walmart. 91 days later I earned a double promotion and became the dept. manager. Oh and I was homeless, middle of Chicago winter. I quit three days later. Why, How come? WHAT IS YOUR DREAM JOB ?
