I've had the privilege to play many cards in this deck of life. Both great and horrendous experiences have taught me that life is beautiful, and worth living. From losing my father at a young age, to almost losing my life in a combat zone. I learned fast and hard that life will beat you down if you let it. Finding passion for life again is only half the battle, YOU HAVE TO GET OUT THERE and see for yourself. Since my injuries in Afghanistan that left me scarred and without a leg and only stories left of my comrades lost, I have found that passion. From sleeping five days on the side of a vertical cliff on El Capitan's Nose route in Yosemite's National park, and mentoring other adaptive climbers alike, to racing the desert confines over a week for the Baja 1000 with my mentors. The story you will hear is not of many, but it is one of success. For I am still here, still thriving and living, but most importantly still here and able to give back. Cheers to the good fight

In December of 2019, at the age of 27, I received a life saving liver transplant thanks to the generosity of my living donor, my uncle Mark. Transplant has by far been the most difficult and humbling experience of my life, and has completely motivated me to live life to the absolute fullest. Post-transplant I became a Donate Life Ambassador to help educate others on organ donation and encourage them to register to be an organ donor. I’ve found that there are still many myths and misconceptions around organ donation and it is not discussed nearly enough, especially within my age group. Almost 114,000 people in the United States are currently on the waiting list for a life-saving organ transplant, and on average 20 people die a day every day from the lack of available organs for transplant. I’m one of the lucky ones who received a transplant, and am inspired to help make the waiting list smaller and smaller until it is eventually 0. I’ve been using Instagram as a platform to share my transplant story and educate others on what it is like being an immunocompromised person during the COVID-19 pandemic. I think it is helpful to see that while someone may look “young and healthy” this may not always be the case, and to put a face to the people whose lives can be saved from following social-distancing measures and flattening the curve of the spread of coronavirus. Throughout my transplant and now the COVID-19 pandemic, I’m often asked how I remain so positive given the circumstances. My answer is pretty simple – I do what I can to protect myself and keep myself safe, but don’t worry over the things that are out of my control

Growing up in my small town of Haiti, I went from being one of 7 children with two parents to placing myself in an orphanage after a series of life-changing events. I eventually was adopted by a Caucasian family from Charlotte, North Carolina, where I was then raised in a white household. I spent much of my teenage and early adult years in limbo between being so grateful for the life that was provided to me in the States while also feeling guilty and questioning my identity as a black child in a white home. I eventually came to the realization that professional therapy could help me sort through my emotions, and I quickly became a mental health advocate. Today, I work to inspire others to own their story, take control of their mental health, and believe that they were put in situations for exponential growth and to become greater than they were ever destined to be. I believe that God put me on this earth and in every situation that I have encountered to add to my story and to inspire others to overcome obstacles and reach their full potential.

During his MBA at Northwestern, he scaled ARIISE to include a REIT, architecture firm, development and construction companies He spent the next 2 years engineering and financing the most sustainable luxury urban home in the United States, built of mostly recyclable materials and needing no grid connections to water, heat or electricity. He fought to change laws, but ultimately lost, forcing its change back to a grid home. Frustrated, he retired from Real Estate at 35. He again morphed ARIISE into ARIISE Partners (an incubator/accelerator), ARIISE Equity (a venture group) and Shelved (a think tank).
