In this talk I explore how the use of data can be more effective when taking into account psychological aspects of learning and tackle directly the needs of the students.

The role of institutional data in Learning Analytics
The wealth of data collected by educational institutions places them in an unprecedented position to gain deeper insights into various aspects their day-to-day operations. However, capitalizing this value is proving a challenge due to the need for multidisciplinary teams, a clear vision from management teams, and effective initiatives to promote the uptake of a data-informed culture. This talk provided a vision of this landscape as well as some initiatives to promote the cultural change towards the use of data in educational institutions.
