It seems like every day I’m hit with one more memory from my past. Meaning one more traumatic event that I thought I had buried deep enough inside that it wouldn’t affect me emotionally at this stage of my life. As I reflect, I realize the significance of even the small moments from my youth through adolescence, young adulthood, and even now can affect how I see the world around me. The journey I’m about to take you on is my life’s journey. It has its own levels of ups and downs, and along the way I had to make significant choices that have dictated the direction of my life. Throughout this journey there were intersections that required wisdom and insight, however, the path that I chose to take was often a misguided step towards some heartbreak for others and myself. It is not the heartbreak that I focus on, but how we overcome and build resilience to move forward
