Alyse Killeen, Managing Partner of StillMark Co. and StillMark Capital, is a venture capitalist with seed stage to pre-IPO investment experience in consumer and enterprise technology and products. Prior to StillMark, Alyse was an investor with two of Los Angeles’ largest and most esteemed venture capital firms, leading diligence practice and managing a deal flow pipeline of over a couple thousand opportunities annually. She has participated in investments in BillDesk, BitPesa, Bridg, Blockstream, CarTrade, CrowdStrike, Dojo Madness, E8, FogHorn, Open Garden, Perspica, Tamara Mellon Brand, VeloCloud, and others, and has closely advised companies in early growth and during accelerator program development, including by Reveal, Cherry Pick, Face[note], FFORA, Helpr, Netki, Nimbly, Snappy, Strypes, Trade Monday, WearAway, Ziel, and others.
Alyse has presented internationally for groups including the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Channel NewsAsia, University of Southern California, and Singapore Management University, and has spoken at events including TechCrunch Disrupt Beijing, Upfront Summit Los Angeles, 500 Startups PreMoney Conference San Francisco, and 500 Startups Unity and Inclusion Summits in Los Angeles and Atlanta. She has been featured in publications including Forbes, Business Insider, and Bloomberg, and has authored two technical academic book chapters, one in Handbook of Digital Currency (2015)titled “The Confluence of Bitcoin and the Global Sharing Economy”, and one in Handbook of Blockchain, Digital Finance, and Inclusion (2017), “Global Financial Institutions 2.0”, a collaboration with coauthor Dr. R. Chan of World Bank.
In 2015, UN Foundation named Alyse a Top 70 Bay Area Digital Leader, and in 2016, Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), a university under the ambit of Singapore’s Ministry of Education, appointed Alyse a Fintech Fellow. On the subject of blockchain technology, Alyse has been featured in Upfront Venture’s five-part video series (2018) and in the preeminent documentary on Bitcoin, BIT X BIT: In Bitcoin We Trust (2018).
To give back to the startup community, Alyse volunteers time as a Mentor at Plug and Play Tech Accelerator and Alchemist Accelerator in Silicon Valley, and as a member of New York Fashion Tech Lab’s Expert Network, a nonprofit program for top-tier women-led technology companies. In support of new community and talent infrastructure development, Alyse founded City Fellows Consortium in 2015 and Women in Venture in 2013.
Today at StillMark, Alyse’s investments focus on the finance, healthcare, and marketplace arenas, especially where innovative ideas may succeed beyond traditional measure and come to bear cultural significance. Alyse continues to advise investors and executives in enterprise and consumer technologies and applications, and holds Advisory Board seats at several cutting-edge startups and pioneering investment funds.
