October 2023 RightsFest Cardiff City Stadium Topic: I had the pleasure of announcing Cardiff, my hometown, as the UK’s first Child Friendly City, were young people, and the city’s leaders gathered together to celebrate. Reflected on the 5 year journey and shared our ambitions moving forward.
Young People’s Perspectives
November 2023 Child Poverty Summit Swansea University Topic: Amplifying the voices of children and young people from the Children’s Commissioner for Wales’ Advisory Panel to kick off the 2023 summit. Shared the findings from the Young Wales report into the state of children’s rights and the nexus of issues relating to child poverty. Outlined the connections between young people’s lives and the data, including the recommendations from the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.
