I am a survivor of sex trafficking as well as a recovering addict and felon. I grew up and lived my whole life in Detroit. I have told my story on FM radio, Buzzsprout, Amazon Music, Deezer, Spotify and more. I have a social media following (really a survivors army) of over 70,000. I tell my story in hopes that those who find themselves at risk are more apt to know what to look out for. Most importantly though, I tell my story so that those who have been in similar situations, or still are, know that they are not alone. I truly believe that the issue of trafficking is greatly ignored and walked right over. There are not sufficient resources to help those who have been in, or are in this situation. I feel that if I don’t speak out nobody will. One of the biggest problems in this world is that so many people seem to think that if it doesn’t directly affect them or theirs than it doesn’t really matter. Yeah, until it does. It’s time to wake the up world up to the real issues out there. For example, we had to fight for addiction awareness, and we got at least somewhere there. Why can’t we fight for this?
I have been raped, beaten, sold and had everything that can be taken from a women, taken from me. In my opinion, the worst thing a person can go through is to be sexually assaulted. It takes your very soul from you. This can be seen in a lot of my media videos (attached to my profile) as well as can be heard my radio interview (also attached in media). I would not wish this experience on my worst enemy. Having gone through being sexually assaulted more times than I can count, I have learned to deal with it. I want to help others be able to keep living after going through something like this, but more importantly, I want to do as much as I can to prevent this. Whether it be date rape, being assaulted walking down the street, or even and especially sex trafficking. I only wish I knew the things then, that I know now, but at least I can help others with the information that I have now.
