Most critical projects are non-linear. A good plan is not enough in this case. Technical competency alone cannot handle an endless can of worms. What is needed to deal with these thorny non-linear projects? Leadership. Are you a project manager? Your success will be determined by your ability to lead a project team. Are you a programme manager? Success will come from leading change practitioners? Are you a portfolio manager? You need to be a leader to change leaders.
