Cynthia served for over 25 years as a Royal Canadian Mounted Police Officer. In 2013, two years after her retirement, she was dumbfounded when diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, even though her husband, also a first responder, was diagnosed only eight months earlier.
This dual diagnosis, along with her healing journey, have provided Cynthia with incredible insight into the issues surrounding first responder mental health struggles. Through her speaking, writing, mentoring and advocacy she works hard to change the lens through which people see the first responder world.
Cynthia is a contributing author to the 2021 Amazon #1 Best Selling Book, "Women of Inspiration - Women Driving Change" and a Universal Women's Network, 2019 Woman of Inspiration - Unsung Hero award winner.
