I am a Senior EU Affairs expert with experience covering broad areas of public policy and decision making process in the EU. I have more than 15 years of professional and activist experience in EU policies and EU integration gained in candidate and later member state country (Croatia) through public sector and NGO organizations.
As a member of parliament I was directly involved in the complex process of the Croatian preparation for the EU accession and oversight of the Governmental work in the EU Institutions after accession.
I have very good understanding of the internal structures of EU institutions, European political parties and functioning of national EU coordination systems. I also understand the legislative procedures in Brussels and the role of expert working groups and advocacy groups in decision making process.
As a Chairman of the EU Affairs Committee I worked on harmonization of legislation with the EU, co-creating the new European legislation, holding public consultations, communicating EU and its policies in the SEE region (e.g. TTIP, Digital Single Market, CAP, Europe 2020, Energy Union, Enlargement policy, Regional policy, Better regulation etc.).
Through 15 years of direct involvement, cooperation and memberships in the NGO and public sector in Croatia and the Region (e.g. Bosnia and Hercegovina, Serbia, Montenegro) I gained excellent knowledge of the Balkans (including political, administrative and economic context) and the knowledge on Implementation of Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA);
I have years of experience in working with EU funds and in delivering training for high level officials and diplomats on EU integration process.
Since 2011 I am a Lecturer on EU policies, EU funds and EU Affairs with more than 50 lectures and conferences.
