Hello! My name is Dave Corlett and I am the director of the military program for the Cincinnati Police Department. I am an Army veteran of Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm and a 31 year inner city police officer. I started the military program in 2014 and over the years we have received recognition for our successes from local, state and federal governments. Most recently I was awarded the L. Anthony Sutin award for innovation and community partnerships in the Law Enforcement community.
One of the items I found most in demand was a basic education and understanding of how workplace stress and PTSD effect military and first responders. I found myself uniquely qualified to discuss the basics of these topics through personal experience and helping others. I teamed up with Dr. Kate Chard, an internationally recognized expert in the field of PTSD and a director of the VA inpatient treatment center. She and I did a couple of local crisis intervention classes and the rest as they say is history!
Together we have, to date, taught thousands of people the basics of workplace stress and PTSD. We have done large national conferences and small local lunch and learns. A few of them are The Ohio Attorney Generals conference multiple years, The Ohio Crime Prevention Conference, Hamilton County Crisis Intervention (monthly), The national Rise22 conference, the 2021 Mid Atlantic Women in Policing Conference, The National Narcotics Officer Conference and so many more...
We have found our topic to be enjoyed just as much by audiences in the corporate world.
We are available separate or together but prefer together for a complete message. We love spreading the word and improving mental health through education and preparation. We have presentations structured everywhere from a 2 hour lunch and learn to a full training day.
Hope to hear from you soon!
