Empowering others to take care of themselves before its too late is the passion and mission of Deana's speaking platform. She had been providing critical incident stress management (CISM) services to law enforcement and fire service agencies at the local, state and federal level until burnout forced her to take care of her self.
She has taught many courses to first responders and federal law enforcement agencies including basic and advanced peer support and suicide prevention. Including peace officer standards and training (POST) instruction at police academies for basic and advanced courses.
With the goal of alleviating suffering and improving the quality of life, raising awareness and education about the importance of self-care is just a part of her dynamic mission. Having worked too many painful law enforcement suicides she has vowed to make it her mission to prevent and eliminate suicide.
She holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology and is a California licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Her company Aboveboard Consulting & Marriage Counseling Services provides consultation, instruction and 1,2 or 3-day trainings.
