I've built two education companies. Neither started with a plan. Here's the actual path: At 18: I left Belgium for Georgetown on a student loan. Paid my way as a barista, exam proctor and teaching assistant. At 20: I started a peer-to-peer coaching business for students. It made $290k in 2 months. My first taste of possibility. At 23: After 3 years in Goldman Sachs M&A and finally clearing my debt, I packed my bags for Singapore with no plan, no network and no safety net, and started Ascend Now.
