Participants will learn the history of treatment programs for the impaired professional, consequences with licensing boards, who are impaired professionals, what it means to be an impaired professional, where do professionals fit in treatment and recovery and where do professionals in recovery fit into the workplace. Dr. MacIntyre will share his story of experience, strength and hope to help organizations and professionals gain a greater understanding of the impaired professional.

A Survival Guide to Coping With Suicide, Homicide, & Sudden Loss
In this presentation participants will gain insight for helping families and individuals through practical information and engaging activities, learn innovative approaches to promote post traumatic growth, resilience, and well-being in survivors, victims, those who mourn, and those who support them. In this presentation professionals will discover ways to facilitate healing and strengthen community resilience to traumatic situations such as suicide, homicide and sudden death. The conference will also focus on self-care strategies to prevent compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma.
