As a Social-Psychologist & Behavioral Analyst, with Doctorates in Sociology & Psychology, Dr. Sorrentino provides counseling and support for Gender Diverse & Transgender individuals; as well as to provide clinical support for the Medical & Behavioral Healthcare professionals delivering gender affirming care to Gender Diverse & Transgender individuals.
In addition to her education in Sociology & Psychology; Dr. Sorrentino has been studying, researching and delivering professional development training on gender diversity, in addition to working with the LGBTQ+ community and their healthcare providers, for more than 33 years. This combination of formal academic education, coupled with her years of experience, research and the training she provides, has positioned her to be a subject matter expert in the field.
Beyond her direct work with individuals, clinicians and healthcare professionals, Dr. Sorrentino designs, develops and delivers gender diverse, transgender & LGBTQ+ Professional Educational Development programs for Medical & Behavioral Healthcare professionals though Seminars, Workshops, In-service Training, as well as through her Series of Educational Podcasts.
These educational programs have been presented on a local and national level at Conferences and Symposiums for the Healthcare Professionals as well as for Human Resources, Business & Professional Organizations. Her Podcast Episodes have reached international audiences with her episodes being downloaded by listeners in countries throughout the world.
Dr. Sorrentino has frequently been called to deliver key-note addresses, lectures and seminars on LGBTQ+ Community issues for schools, colleges, universities.
