EQ: The Missing Link in Diversity and Inclusion

While well intentioned, it is perplexing to see that the diversity and inclusion needle has barely moved in the last 20 years. This isn’t to say that some organizations haven’t made great strides because they have. However, the vast majority are still looking to get it right

It is assumed that awareness of an issue is enough to avoid problems. similarly, many people are aware that going to the gym and working out regularly will improve their health and wellness. And yet...many of them don’t go. Awareness doesn't necessarily result in a shift of behavior

This is where emotional intelligence comes into play. Simply relying on edicts and mandates to encourage D & I will only have limited success, it must be intrinsic – and it can be as individuals begin to “do” emotional intelligence, not just know it. It means, overcoming cognitive dissonance.

Presentation focus:
• A quick look at emotional Intelligence really is
• Understanding Cognitive Dissonance
• Discuss four (4) key elements of

Go from Good to Great… from Great to Exceptional: Emotional Intelligence is the Catalyst.

Emotional Intelligence has become a crucial part in how today’s leaders meet the challenges they face daily. Emotional Intelligence skills are integral to decision making, empathizing with co-workers and friends, communicating vision to staff, overcoming challenging workplace situations, and staying resilient.

Emotional Intelligence (or EI) encompasses qualities that go beyond general intellectual intelligence and technical competency. Managers who maintain accurate self-awareness have more attributes of emotional intelligence and appear to be more effective to their superiors and subordinates.

The central finding of EI research is that emotions are essentially contagious, and thus a leader's attitude and energy can "infect" a workplace either for better or for worse. The hallmarks of a true leader can be acquired and when they are, they can significantly impact employee performance. This presentation delivers the in-depth knowledge and practical emotional intelligence skills you ne

Emotional Intelligence: An Exploration

The rules are changing. Success used to be measured by what we knew, or how smart we were - IQ. But today it’s how we handle ourselves and our relationships – EQ (Emotional Intelligence). But what is EQ… really? An awareness of this is extremely important for today’s workplace and in relationships in general. Emotional intelligence (EI) is vital to be an effective leader, coworker, member of team or creating and maintaining satisfying personal relationships. People skills have now become more important as a culture of teamwork and partnerships takes precedence over being an independent contributor.
This presentation will provide an overview of the topic and the opportunity to assess your current EQ.
• What is EQ (EI)?
• Workplace/Personal Implications
• What’s your current EQ? (as measured by the EISAP 2.0)
• So what? /Now what?

Could Your Emotional Intelligence be holding you back?

Ever wonder why you didn’t get that promotion when technically you were the best candidate? How about the raise you felt you should have but just couldn’t ask for it. Ever wonder why it’s so hard to maintain a long-lasting relationship?

Research tells us that individuals with higher emotional intelligence reported higher levels of life satisfaction, self-acceptance, and self-esteem than their peers with lower emotional intelligence. This presentation is about how the lack of emotional intelligence could be what’s blocking you.
• What is a competitive advantage?
• Overview of Emotional Intelligence
• How a lack of EI shows up in our personal and professional lives
• 3 Step process for improving your EI

Emotional Intelligence: Your Competitive Advantage for Personal and Career Success (“The Edge”)

We wonder how others become successful. What’s the secret? We often say “He/she had an “edge’. We can’t quite put our fingers on it but we know it when we see it. Do you have that “something” that “edge” Success in the workplace means striking a balance between achieving superb results and working well with others. Organizations promote teamwork, however, they still reward personal achievement. In order to be recognized, promoted and receive bonuses, you must maintain a competitive advantage. Do you have that “edge”? What is it, and how do you get it. If you have it, how do you keep it or keep it sharp?

This presentation is about how developing your emotional intelligence could be your competitive advantage, your “edge”. It also offers tips, suggestions, strategies you can take.
