The shame of disability and the disability of shame

Shame disables confidence no matter where it appears and festers in your life. My story of shame revolves around a permanent hand injury/disability that I sustained from working ferociously at the computer in the tech industry 20 years ago. My hand disability is something you cannot visually see and it was very easy for me to "hide." This shame led to adverse effects in my life. It doesn't matter whether you are ashamed of a disability or your sexuality, your appearance, past actions or behaviors, social status, family members etc. The truth is, shame disables confidence and I wish I had gotten to this sooner in life, because ever since dealing with my shame - life has been even more incredible! In this talk I will share my personal experience with shame to hopefully allow you to uncover what elements of shame in your own life could be holding you back from the success you want and deserve.

Creating and maintaining healthy boundaries

When you are confident and you know what you want, it is easier to set and maintain boundaries with others. A lack of establishing boundaries leads to people-pleasing behavior, over-giving, time-wasting, an inauthentic life, and suffering.
