I started out my career in the accounting field…..while I love coffee beans, counting them for a living wasn't for me. I say that with love.
I made a career change after having my children. I moved into payroll, thought I could use the accounting background I had…one thing led to another, and I fell into HR.
I then spent the next 15 years in various progressive leaderships roles in Human Resources. During that period, I also had some very cool opportunities that led me into occupational health and safety, which I have now been doing for about the last 10 years.
I was able to earn my Certified Human Resources Leader designation with the HRPA (Human Resources Professional Association of Ontario) and my Canadian Registered Safety Professional Designation with the BCRSP (Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals of Canada).
I was able to hone in and develop my expertise within both federally and provincially regulated workplaces in a variety of industries; manufacturing (automotive, military & health care), retail, service (health and safety), and telecommunications. My corporate career has truly afforded me many unique and exciting opportunities (and some complex experiences that have tested & built my character!). So, I decided to take a leap of faith and jump into entrepreneurship, sharing my experiences and supporting small business.
More recently have found myself doing webinars, legislative changes, and compliance related items. I do enjoy this side very much.
My only goal is to inspire business owners to build happier workplaces.
I will lead the development of foundational people and safety strategies in alignment with business organizational goals and based on our Eminence 4 Pillars of a happier workplace: Compliance, Communication, Contribution, and Connection.
I bring a people-first approach to human resources and workplace safety. I am passionate about creating compliance while maintaining an engaged and inspired workforce.
