Johnelle Simpson uses his personal story to showcase how passion and hard work can lead to success as a leader. Simpson believes that adversity and life's unfortunate events should be used as fuel on the road to success. The stories and anecdotes Simpson shares takes crowd members on a journey that leaves them wanting to take their leadership to the next level.
Simpson, a first-generation college student, graduated from the University of Georgia with degrees in Risk Management & Insurance and Political Science. From the small town of Donalsonville, Georgia, Simpson used his small town friendliness to lead him to the highest student leadership position, Student Body President, during his time at the University of Georgia. He is currently pursuing a law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law.
Prior to attending law school, Simpson worked with area businesses in Athens-Clarke County, Georgia to provide high school students with internship and apprenticeship opportunities. Simpson provided youth with career, life, leadership, and employability skills necessary for a successful future. The programming efforts provided by Simpson allowed over 250 youth to bridge the gap between high school and postsecondary/workforce options.
In the community, Simpson serves as Director of Risk Management for Georgia Hugh O' Brian Youth Leadership. He has previously served as Chair of the Education Committee for the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce, and board member of the Georgia 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees.
