Bio

Dr. Julie McCarthy is a Management Professor at the University of Toronto with over two decades of research and teaching in the realm of employee wellbeing. Julie's corporate sessions focus on how employees can reduce stress, build resilience, and achieve success in their work and home lives. They are offered at multiple levels (i.e., employee, team, leader) and can be customized to your industry (e.g., banking, law, health, and more). Julie's research has made significant, outstanding, and lasting scholarly contributions resulting in numerous high-quality peer-reviewed journal publications, external research grants, invited national and international research seminars and presentations, organizational partnerships, awards, and considerable media coverage (e.g., Financial Times, Business Week, Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, the Financial Post, the National Post, Macleans the Wall Street Journal).

The Science of Resilience: How to Cope During Disruptive Times

Even before the current COVID pandemic, the fast-paced nature of today’s corporate world was placing increased demands on employees and triggering high levels of exhaustion, disengagement, and illness. Today, more than ever, strategies to replenish energy and increase personal resilience have never been more important. Drawing from top research findings and practical examples, Julie will share resilience strategies that have been proven to work. These strategies focus on replenishing energy in four core areas: body, emotions mind, and values. Central to this webinars is the formulation of a personal action plan that will enhance resilience, productivity, engagement, and leadership skills.
