Her passion for storytelling and public speaking was not obvious early in her life. As a child, she was shy and reserved – choosing to be the listener rather than the talker in social situations. A humiliating experience in school caused Karen to retreat further into her own shell. That experience carried over into adulthood. A ‘near death’ experience lead Karen to emerge from her shadow and learn to STAND OUT when she SPEAKS UP.
Karen has merged her skills in HR, Personal Growth Coaching and Public Speaking and can assist you in STANDING OUT and SPEAKING UP. She motivates and empowers clients to stand out of the shadows and to use public speaking as an effective business tool.

Toastmasters (an International Public Speaking & Leadership Organisation)
Karen is a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) the highest acclaimed achievement received by less than 5% of those who join the Toastmasters organisation, manage to attain. Obtaining this award involves giving over 50 speeches, presenting at several training groups; organising conferences and contest along with mentoring many members and training new members in their leadership roles within the organisation. In a District with over 5000 members, Karen won District Toastmaster of the Year 15/16, for her commitment and dedication to members.
Within Toastmasters, Karen has taken on many leadership roles. During 14/15 Karen was Division Director, where she incorporated strategic planning and implemented training schedules for 26 clubs. Karen progressed to the District Leadership Team which encompasses Northern England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland – here she assists, empowers and motivates district officers.
Almarai (largest vertically integrated dairy company in the Middle East)
Karen gained 15 years of experience working in HR for this multi-cultural company. Skills required for this task included being self-motivated and self-directed. Clear communication skills ensured a smooth running of our multi-cultural and multi sited organisation.
