While "leadership" has become a buzzword in our culture, it seems this pursuit has left us all at new heights-- like out on a cliff... alone. Kathy loves to engage people with humor and questions about self-leadership, community, and what it means to live life NOT alone. From having those difficult but honest conversations with teammates, to using our own histories to create a better future, listeners are inspired to reflect, laugh, dream, and do.
Kathy may be a pasty white-girl, but her talks have taken her around the globe and back to relate to people across each of the five diversity barriers: Ethnic, Cultural, Generation, Gender, and Socio-Economic. This life journey started in small rural towns on the East Coast and now finds her living her best life on the Best Coast in the San Francisco Bay area. Her humor, interaction with the room, and storytelling style inspire listeners to not only engage in the moment, but follow-up with actions of their own.
Kathy is married to Ben, and together they became parents of five (yes, five) kids through the "zero to chaos" method of foster-adoption. They are convinced that their loud, multi-ethnic, constantly-moving, trauma-informed family will change the world...as long as they all survive the teen years.
