Recently I had the opportunity to participate in a Diversity and Inclusion training, and the facilitator put me on the spot and asked me, “Who are you?” I hesitantly answered with my name… he told me to dig deeper. I’ve been thinking on this question for some time. What is my “why”? I've been struggling to nail it down, so the answer that suddenly came out of me in a room of 250 strangers surprised even me. “I am a servant of Mankind…”
I am a story teller. These stories are my own experiences that I use to teach life-lessons of empowerment, faith, hope, and perseverance. I was adopted at 4 years old, paralyzed at 17, became an amputee at 28, and a foster parent at 40. I have been blessed with the opportunity to spend nearly 20 years serving children through the YMCA, Easter Seals, and Boys and Girls Clubs of America. I have worked for the US Air Force, run my own businesses, wrote a book on personal development and overcoming challenges, and speak regularly to fellow foster parents. I am also an expert in the DISC model of Human Behavior, and a student of Leadership and how it is changing in the modern world.
I have a gift, and it would be selfish of me to keep that gift to myself. So, I offer my services to help inspire, motivate, teach, and enlighten any open mind ready to hear the message.
What message can I help you deliver to your audience?
