Bio

I am a cis (she/hers) het BIPOC woman. I am the daughter of an immigrant and am also a clinical psychologist. In the field of trauma and PTSD. I am an experienced speaker on the topics of evidence-based treatment for PTSD, program development, trauma-informed care, social justice and advocacy as it relates to trauma, and special issues and considerations for traumatized individuals.

I have been a practicing clinician for over 10 years in the VA and DoD and am trained in numerous evidence-based and evidence-informed therapies for the treatment of trauma. I am a dedicated and passionate advocate for mental health services for traumatized populations and underserved and historically marginalized individuals. My work has afforded me the privilege of working with multidisciplinary staff to coordinate treatment and implement programming and I have built and maintained positive and collaborative relationships with leadership, providers, and staff from all disciplines.

At the VA, I championed the formation of comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy services and coordinated this service and managed a team of 10 clinicians. I built this service from the ground up, advocating for its implementation, collecting data on its effectiveness, and presenting these findings to leadership and to VA hospitals in multiple states. I have also spoken at international trauma conferences and conferences on third-wave therapies as well as at APA. I was also fortunate to serve as my clinic's training coordinator and am passionate about supervision, mentoring, and consultation.

In addition to my work in the VA/DoD, I am a founding co-owner of a collective of psychologists who provide trauma treatment in the community. The Trauma Resilience and Education Center (TREC), DC will be soon available to provide expert care to individuals impacted by trauma. In addition to clinical treatment we are also dedicated to outreach and raising awareness of trauma-related issues and enhancing training opportunities for clinicians. I have also taught in psychology doctoral programs on the topics of supervision and consultation.

Please see my profile for highlighted panel discussions and presentations I have given.
