Lee Akay is a Partner with the Innovation Discovery Center and the CEO of Fitgenetix, a genomics based lifestyle platform. Fitgenetix combines DNA technology with AI and individual goals to provide personalized supplement and nutrition delivery and fitness instructions for optimal wellness and chronic condition management.
He was previously Managing Partner for PwC Consulting and Senior Partner at Deloitte. in 2017, Lee was listed as one of Inc Magazine's' 20 Most Inspiring Entrepreneurs Improving Health For All.
Starting in 1990, Lee served as Managing Partner for PwC Consulting where he expanded service in the healthcare space beyond initial offerings to providers, payers, and pharmaceutical companies. After more than a decade with PwC, Lee became Senior Partner at Deloitte, leading the West Region Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice. At Deloitte, Lee managed new service development initiatives in an advisory capacity and managed national marketing efforts.
In 2000, Lee served as the founding board member and executive advisor for the Health Technology Center, a membership based think-tank group created to inform member organizations about emerging trends, innovations, and technology to transform care within the health and wellness space. Under his leadership, the group provided valuable strategic guidance to develop and deploy new business model options, and create a collaborative environment for large industry investor groups and key stakeholders in the space.
In 2008, Lee became managing partner of Innovation Discovery Center, which is dedicated to identifying, managing, and improving companies that are driving innovation in healthcare. Through his work with Innovation Discovery Center, Lee founded Fitgenetix, a genomics testing service that uses DNA analysis to provide personalized nutrition, exercise plans, and a supplement delivery service. With Fitgenetix, Lee hopes to make genomic assisted fitness and nutrition a permanent fixture in the health and wellness practices of populations worldwide.
