Marot Williamson

Marot spoke to the James C. Cawood, American Inn of Court in Annapolis, Maryland about her experience attending substance abuse rehabilitation. Marot spoke the topic of attending rehab and encouraging others to seek help if they need it. In particular, emphasized that alcoholism is not something that someone can recover from alone and the importance of seeking help from the recovery community. Marot talked about her personal experience of being afraid to find help and being very upset when first arriving at rehab, and how she is now happy to share her message of recovery with others.

Sober ultramarathoner Charlie Engel interviewed Marot about the role exercise plays in her sobriety. Marot talked about how she was was introduced to yoga at rehab and continued with yoga after rehab and the positive effect the exercise and feeling of community have on her recovery from alcoholism.

Marot addressed the Mae Abraham Luncheon at Ashley Addiction Treatment when she was recognized with the Mae Abraham Service Award. Marot spoke about realizing that she had a problem with alcohol but being afraid to address it. She spoke about the intervention her family staged for her and going to rehab and her experience while there. Marot also talked about the positive impact recovery has had on her life and how she is now able to give back to others.
