Martin (Marty) Lattman is a highly experienced business executive, management consultant, and adult educator. Prior to founding his own strategic management consultancy in 2005, he spent more than twenty years in the telecommunications and IT industries. In addition to serving as President and CEO of Rocketseed USA and President of RAD Data Communications, Marty held Vice President positions in marketing, sales management, product management, and strategic alliances. His management experience spans from start-up companies to Fortune 500 corporations such as Xerox and AT&T. Marty’s accomplishments include the garnering of several Product of the Year awards, two successful IPO’s, and achievement of $16M in sales within two years of new venture launch.
Over the last twelve years, Marty has focused on providing consulting services related to strategic planning, leadership development, management training, and organizational effectiveness for a wide variety of clients. He has worked with more than fifty different organizations, ranging from small not-for-profits to global corporations to Federal Government agencies. In addition to specific skills such as strategic planning, strategic thinking, innovation, and agility, this work has involved facilitation and mentoring on soft skills such as effective communication, collaboration, team-building, emotional intelligence, and time management.
While building his consulting practice, Marty taught in the MBA program at the Johns Hopkins University Graduate School of Business from 2004 - 2011. The courses he taught included marketing, leadership, financial analysis, and strategy. Winner of the outstanding instructor award there in 2004/2005, he served on a number of faculty committees and as an advisor for graduate research projects.
Today, Marty is an active faculty member of the American Management Association (AMA). He has taught more than 270 seminars for AMA on Strategic Planning, Developing Executive Leaders, Advanced Executive Leadership, Strategic Agility, and Strategy Execution. In 2014, Marty was asked to develop a course on Transformational Leadership, which has now become one of AMA’s top leadership seminars.
Marty is also an instructor for a small woman-owned firm that offers various webinars and on-site sessions that enhance critical organizational skills. Commonly taught topics include Dealing with Change, Giving Effective Feedback, Managing a Multi-Generation Workforce, Resilience, Positive Thinking, Effective Communication, and many others.
In addition to his professional work, Marty is an active Board member for multiple not-for-profit organizations. He is the author of numerous business articles and the book “Manage Your Mission” (available on Amazon). A former youth and college lacrosse coach, Marty's athletic experience has applicability for mentoring and motivating employees of all levels, He holds a BA from the College of Wooster and an MBA from Cornell University.
