MSD Prevention Awareness
This 1.5-2 hour basic awareness training provides general awareness about MSD prevention and an understanding of the hazards. Topics include: MSD's: what they are - signs and symptoms, importance of early reporting, MSD hazards: - including force, repetition and posture, discussion about how to identify MSD Hazards and how to prevent MSDs in the workplace. Participants will leave the awareness session with a basic understanding of the hazard and how it can be controlled.
Office Ergonomics
The office ergonomic training provides participants with a proven methodology that identifies root cause problems in a practical, hands-on training environment. Participants will learn an effective and efficient way of completing a basic office ergonomics assessment highlighting issues that contribute to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Methods to recognize MSD hazards, conduct an assessment and determine practical solutions for MSD risks will be emphasized. Length of session depends on available time and amount of content requested.
Manual Material Handling/Safe Lifting
Safe Lifting is a half-day (3-hour) practical course. It is designed to provide training on performing proper lifting techniques when lifting is absolutely necessary. The first 2 hours of the training covers information suitable for all employees. The last hour is reserved for supervisors, managers and other appropriate personnel to learn coaching and observation tips for safe lifting techniques. They are also equipped to present 10 minute Safe Lifting refresher safety talks to employees.
