"The Fight for REAL Sex Ed" - Presentation, Arlington Young Democrats
In June of 2021, I presented "The Fight for REAL Sex Ed: Taking Action in Your Community" to an intimate group of leaders and members from the Health & Education Caucus (HEC) of the Arlington Young Democrats (Virginia). The presentation covered a brief history of Virginia's sex education and what has been done so far. It then covered how HEC approached the issue of inadequate sex ed locally in Arlington using Advocates for Youth's "Youth Activist Toolkit". This was followed by opportunities to get involved in sex ed reform locally and statewide. The presentation closed with a group discussion on how to apply this stratagem to other local issues.
