My life is a collection of stories of perseverance, humorous predicaments, unique observations and risk. I have learned to get along and fit into a world that was not designed with me in mind. I have set on the other side of the fence looking in, searching for a way to belong. In the course of my 56 years I have had to Think Uniquely. I had to find a way when there wasn't a way before. I had to proceed into each day wearing a face that oozed confidence, while my heart pounded in fear, wondering if I could do, what I said I could do. Born with Spina Bifida but never bound by my wheelchair, I have played most sports traveled the world, gone to public school (not without a fight) graduated from college, taught public school, published a wheelchair racing news letter with a circulation the extended to more than 10 countries. I raced in more that 300 wheelchair road races including the Boston Marathon, and countless Los Angeles, Long Beach and other various marathons.I also traveled to Japan twice for race in the Oita Half-Marathon. I self published a novel, took a 3 week solo-transcontinental train trip, cruised in Alaska, Hawaii, Australia, the Mediterranean and Mexico, It is my wish to share these stories, that in time people will have an authentic understanding of people who move through like in a most unique way.
