The job of the first responder is to run towards challenging situations while everyone else runs away. The emotions experienced in these situations can range from extreme elation to major distress. This session offers an introductory look at how emotions affect us on a biological level and what effect these physical fluctuations can have in the field. By exploring the body’s natural responses to emotion, and understanding the science behind these reactions, we are better equipped to manage, process, and return to a state of ease.

In this feel-good presentation, you will learn all about inspiring others just by “nerding out” about the things you like. Passion sparks inspiration and often leads to a powerful snowball effect. You can inspire others by being inspired. We will also discuss the logistics of adding mentorship/apprenticeship programs at your organization, things you should look for in your own role models, and the impact inspiring figures can have on us years into the future.
