Life is a series of rugged events for the best of people, but add a learning disability, some social awkwardness, and now we have an impossible mission. My life has been a series of tough challenges, and each challenge has taken immense strength and determination to overcome. Navigating a world that is designed around extroverts without learning disabilities is not easy, yet it is not as impossible as it sounds.
I graduated high-school in 2005 and started my college career in 2006 at Northern Virginia Community College. In 2009, I transferred to The American University and subsequently left AU in the fall of 2010 due to financial hardships. Soon a semester-long sabbatical became a five-year hiatus from academia and a string of fantastic jobs. In 2014, while working for a local company, I quickly climbed the corporate ladder. In 2015, I fell off the ladder in the worst way possible, married with no job and no education. Life was impossible! At the age of 28, I decided to go back to school to get my undergraduate degree. Soon I graduated with my bachelor's degree but still no job. Fast forward to 2020, and I have a fantastic job, a graduate degree, and my own business.
