Bio

Stephanie Nash is a mindfulness & body-language coach & speaker who is a top expert in the Unified Mindfulness system, developed by Shinzen Young, with whom she has taught for over 20 years.

Stephanie designed & taught a mindfulness training for a Harvard Medical School brain study, recorded meditations for a Carnegie Mellon stress reduction study, and gives presentations on using mindfulness for stress reduction, pain management, healthier eating, and to enhance performance, productivity & happiness.

Stephanie also offers private sessions and online programs – including “Letting Go of Negative Thinking” (an extremely popular class), “Intro to Mindfulness”, and “Processing Difficult Emotions.”

Stephanie is also a highly trained actress and made a 6-figure income playing a lot of TV-moms & other characters over the years. (Yes, you’ve probably seen her on TV.)

Steph incorporates gems from her acting training into her work as a mindfulness coach. What she found missing in most meditation teaching, was any emphasis on cultivating an agility of thinking, feeling and moving – like what she learned getting her MFA from the prestigious Yale School of Drama – as well as from Body-Mind Centering, and the Alexander Technique.

So she developed a rich & uniquely effective approach to creating & establishing a mindfulness practice which incorporates body language with the power of the UM mindfulness system. And Steph's natural sense of humor & play help make it fun, so that people who might otherwise be turned off at the notion of meditation, want to try it and become physically engaged & enjoy the process.

Stephanie was also privileged to be invited to participate in the Gandhi 3.0 retreat in India in Jan 2020 by the international nonprofit, Service Space, and she was also part of the last meeting of the International Dharma Teacher Gathering held in the US.

Steph teaches her unique approach to how body language affects thoughts & feelings at UCLA Arts & Healing, and she was a guest expert on a Deepak Chopra show where she taught her unique take on laughing meditation.
