By attending this learn-shop participants will have teaching tools and vocabulary for building an open and safe classroom environment, which invites students to explore their identity through story-telling, conflict resolution and the collaborative process. These tools are applicable in all disciplines and professions.

This learning-lab will challenge scholars to support the idea of being confident in your own space, by embracing the reality that it’s incumbent upon them to use all hues that make them unique. Thus supporting other crayons in the box be the best they can be whether their crayon is being used or not. Having a positive attitude is importance no matter which crayon is being called upon.

Leaders will explore the process of developing a multicultural mindset/perspective to assist them with leading across differences. Through a reflective process of identifying their “voice”, and the commonalities and differences of stories other than theirs, leaders can enhance their ability to support a mindset that doesn’t represent a single story.
