Bio

As a Professional Certified Coach specializing in leadership effectiveness and executive coaching, I have taught the skill of resilience to thousands in over 20 countries around the world. I help executives from diverse lines of business deal with individual and inter-personal issues, communication challenges, and organizational shifts. I leverage organizational psychology, neuroscience, cognitive behavioral and positive psychology approaches to help clients break down patterns of behavior that do not serve them well.

Communication and organizational relationship theories are applied to help both individuals and leaders to have authentic conversations that empower them and others to succeed, engaging employees and galvanizing leaders. Finally, a focus on stress management helps build resilient individuals and organizations that are adaptable to a rapidly changing environment.

I am dedicated to coaching individuals to find their sense of balance, both within the working environment, enhancing productivity and accountability for execution, and outside of the organizational context, finding balance through a holistic approach to work and life.

Whether working at the individual, team, or organizational level, coaching is centered around the facilitation of change and growth through a deeper understanding of motivations, acceptance of reasonable limitations and challenges as an expected part of the process of change, and re-engagement with others in a more positive manner.

I focus on keeping stress, fear and anxiety from eroding focus, productivity, innovation, relationships, and even profits. Executive coaching improves organizational effectiveness to drive profitability, increase revenue growth and improve employee engagement. Through a series of straight-forward strategies designed to clarify, expand, and articulate the leader's vision, executive coaching builds self-awareness and interpersonal skills, while holding the executive accountable for results. Self-awareness is a catalyst for growth, while empathy helps leaders tap into intrinsic motivations and enhance interactions with both colleagues and subordinates. Through mindfulness-based performance coaching, leaders build resilience, humility, and an authentic leadership platform, enhancing trust and retention as they craft high performance organizations that are equally flexible and tenacious.

My book, Taming the Sabertooth: Resilient Leadership in a Stressful World, is available in stores and online.

TAMING THE SABERTOOTH: RESILIENT LEADERSHIP IN A STRESSFUL WORLD

Stress and anxiety are increasingly becoming issues in the workplace. Increased competition, longer working hours and higher performance expectations are all contributing to a stressful work environment. And the news at home isn't much better. Digitization and always-on technology have blurred the boundaries between work and personal life, removing the natural buffer between them and costing us our health.

TAMING THE SABERTOOTH is an entertaining and engaging keynote that causes people to examine where stress is sabotaging their happiness, and inspires them to take control of their response to it in order to thrive.

The presentation centers on three key points:

Purpose - Challenging assumptions to find clarity of purpose
Passion - Moving through fear and choosing optimism
Persistence - Renewing resources to nurture recovery

Takeaway Message: We cannot necessarily change our environment, but we have the power to shift our response to it by building resilience.
