I am currently an active duty Soldier, and I have been in the U.S. Army for 11 years. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Behavioral Science form Ashford University. I have attended the Army’s Master Resilience Course, Equal Opportunity Course, Suicide Prevention Course, and Drill Sergeant Academy. While working with hundreds of graduates as a Drill Sergeant, I realized the need for mentorship and discipline in high school. Children in high school face so many challenges and pressures that require special guidance. That’s where I come in! I believe instilling decision-making skills based on principles and values will go further than leading by force. As a Senior Noncommissioned Officer, I also understand the complexity of getting others to follow you. I have learned several techniques and skills that have enhanced my leadership capabilities professionally and personally. Not only do these skills work for Soldiers, but will prove to be effective in the educations system as well.
