After going through a divorce in 2014, I found myself in the position of working paycheck-to-paycheck with little to spare at the end of each month. As a single mom, I wanted financial security for my child, so I set out to make the right connections to learn how to flip homes in California. Although I had early success, legal expenses from the divorce were extracting all the profits I was making, but I was determined to build wealth and a legacy for my family. When my daughter moved to Louisiana for college, I relocated to Jackson, MS so I could be closer to her, and that’s where I started my real estate investment career in earnest. Discouraged by a few set-backs that would leave me nearly homeless, within a month I closed on my first home and had $500 left to my name. In 2018, I founded “WIT (Whatever It Takes) Property Finders” and finally accomplished my goal of building my wealth and legacy. From those humble beginnings, I now own four multi-family complexes and over 60 rentals and commercial properties. In the last four years I have executed over 1,000 transactions such as traditional and non-traditional flips, buy and holds, notes, wraps, partials and wholesaling properties such as single-family residences, multi-family properties, storage units, mobile home parks, and retail and commercial buildings. I have also retained over $72 million from the field. Currently, I am writing a book that will release in August 2019. Most recently, I have completed my very first box product! I built this empire by doing WIT - Whatever It Takes!

I’m a digital strategist. I’ve spent the past 20 years working in the digital strategy industry. While I began my career in website design, my passion has always been to help businesses expand their reach through web-based strategic thinking. I believe there’s no such thing as one size fits all, when it comes to managing your business. Throughout my career I’ve worked in several capacities across many verticals including digital marketing, usability, social media, and web analytics. This unique experience mix allowed me to connect the dots between industries and create customized strategies that work for individual organizations. I began my career as a Web Technology Analyst for a local bank in Michigan. After completing college, I moved to North Carolina and began working with a digital marketing company. It was during this position that I cultivated my love for small and medium businesses. By 2008, I’d found my calling in digital analytics and have worked every day since, to bridge the gap between technology and marketing; translating the foreign language that often confuses businesses and throws them off course.

James Perkins, Jr., made history in 2000 when he became mayor of Selma, Alabama, marking a turning point in the city's long history of racism. Perkins was born to Etta and James Per-kins, Sr. in Selma, Alabama. He grew up in a time when segregation was law in the South. However, he also grew up during a time when change was beginning. He was not yet ten when the Selma march occurred. By the time Perkins entered high school, integration laws had passed, and he joined the first group of black children to enter the newly formed Selma High School, after the two high schools, A.G. Parish and R.B Hudson, were merged, bringing black and white students together for the first time. He was also among the first graduating class from Selma High School. Perkins continued his education at historically black college, Alabama A&M in Huntsville, Alabama. He joined the Caterpillar Tractor Company as a computer programmer and later as a systems analyst. He left Caterpillar and joined the Martin Marietta Corporation as a project manager. In 1980 Perkins returned to Selma to begin his own computer consulting firm, Business Ventures, Inc. He also studied business administration at Auburn University in Selma. Perkins and his wife, Cynthia, began to raise their four children in his hometown. Things were dire in Selma. Advancement for blacks crept along, despite two-thirds of Selma's 20,000 residents being African American. To Perkins, it was time for things to change. A number of others agreed. Frederick Reese, a life-long activist ran for the office of mayor in 1984. Perkins served as his campaign manager. Although Reese lost the election, Perkins remained committed to political advocacy, involving himself more and more. Perkins' first years as mayor were not without difficulty. Months following his election, during a march to celebrate Martin Luther King Day, marchers tried to take down a statue that honored a Confederate soldier who was also a founder of the Ku Klux Klan. As he worked to improve relations between Selma's black and white residents, as well as to bring some much-needed jobs to the area, James Perkins showed himself to be an indomitable leader who used all his strength and ingenuity to complete the tasks set before him.
