I have a life long relationship with God, and that is the single foundation of all that my life represents. Riding on that foundation are some of the following chapters of my life. I left school after the 8th grade to go to work because my Step-Dad was injured on his job, and was disabled. I was the head of my household (My Mom, two Sisters, and for a while my Step-Dad) at age 16, and paid for everything, but was not able to get back into school. Frustrated with low pay, I decided to get a GED, which made it possible to take better care of my family. That GED opened other doors. I got better jobs, joined the United States Army, went to college and seminary, and held a professional position as a Parole Officer for 21 years. I retired in 2003, and stepped into the substitute teaching, which I am still doing. In this position I have presented life lessons hundreds of times, and the responses have been priceless. Some lives have been forever changed because each lesson was sent out with powerful love. I have worked with youth for 50 years, and now I also want to ad inspiring the elderly to live out their sunset years filled with love and joy. I want to motivate teaches to teach out of the box, and I want to keep reaching students and youth who are at risk. Some of my life experiences include carrying the Olympic Torch, writing and performing a radio public relations commercial, winning several writing contests, having an article published in a hardback book on political opinions, and much more. In the days and months after I carried the Olympic Torch, I signed hundreds of autographs, giving me opportunity to share some great wisdom with those who were present. I was called to share that experience in several schools with hundreds of students. Some stories I tell include how I was raised in a broken home, did not attend high school, provided for my family for a few years after my step-father deserted us, and I learned that in life, we usually have the test first, and the lesson follows. My Dad was a WWII hero, and my hero, in the USAF, my Brother served in the US marines. My Mom was also in the USAF. My sister was in the US Army. My Uncle was in the US Navy, and I served in the US Army. Some topics I share are "Where are the Men," "We will never see tomorrow," drug prevention, "Bootcamp," and "do we really have heroes?" I have a ton of life lessons for at risk kids, for inspiration and motivation, and I talk about this great country, the USA. There is so much more, and I try to include humor, sprinkled "hither and yon" as I speak. Back in the day (when I was young), is now called "Old-school," and they say it is outdated. I want to show the world how important those days were. My generation is the last one to draw water from a well, use an outhouse, have no running water in the house, have no electricity, and no TV. As it turns out, we may be the last generation who truly had a need for, and used an imagination

A third Generation Blue Collar Entrepreneur who hails from the automotive industry and excels at transforming field techs into a dominate front-line sales force that provide world class customer service. An advocate for the Blue-Collar Trades who is looking to pay it forward to the next generation of fellow trades men and women. Husband, Dad, Business Owner, Motivational Speaker, and Coach. My story starts three generations back with my grandfather taking his last check he received from the Army and buying a used air compressor to start his auto repair shop. He grew that into a used car lot, body shop, auto recycling yard and eventually a Lincoln Mercury Dealership he ran for over 50 years. His success was based in the trades and the mechanical ability to repair cars. Over a lifetime he grew that into an empire of wealth and success. My father who started wrenching on lawn mowers and mini bikes in early elementary school found his calling in the auto body industry and ran a very successful body shop and towing company for nearly 40 years. As I child I was raised around men who built their wealth and success starting with their hands. Growing that skill into owners of their own businesses and eventually leaders in their respected industries. As a child I never really envisioned myself taking the path of college and a four-year degree. School never resonated with me as a path to success and really during my high school years became more of something I had to do before I got to go to work. Now work was something I grew to love and look forward to. Every time there was a break in the school schedule for summer or holidays you could find me doing some sort of labor job. For the better part of Jr high and high school I worked most days after school as well. During these years I had the opportunity to work on a ranch cutting wood, repairing tractors, changing irrigation lines and mending fences, worked at a golf course driving the range cart picking up balls, junk yard parts salesman, wooden boat restoration shop, CNC machine shop, auto detailer, light line mechanic, auto glass warehouse and deliver guy. Of course, the whole time I also did side jobs to make money, fixing up and selling everything from bikes to cars. So, the entrepreneurial spirit runs deep with me. In my early 20’s I got a taste of being a number among many at a large corporate auto dealership as a parts counterman and quickly realized big business is not where I wanted to stake my career. Small business was more of my liking and the close personal relationships small business affords you resonated with me. So, I took a temporary position at my father’s body shop as a collision estimator that eventually turned into a partnership that bought my father out so he was able to retire. After nearly a decade in a three-way partnership owning a body shop and two towing companies I have since sold my shares of the body shop and now own the two towing companies located in Sacramento,CA.
